Explore.org maintains a live stream of an osprey nest on the coast of Maine. This year, a male and female named Rachel and Steve layed eggs in the nest and hatched three chicks – Spirit, Little B, and Eric.

The chicks were nearly ready to leave the nest … when a Bald Eagle attacked! Little B recognized the danger and tipped out of the nest for his first unscheduled flight. Eric flattened himself to the nest floor. But Spirit was taken.

Audubon.org has the full story - they report that Little B survived his first flight, and his parents are perched near his new location.

This osprey cam is a little too real. -Emily
